Alivia Nelson

Set Time: 5:00–5:45 p.m., Fishbowl Stage

Alivia is an American singer-songwriter who grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii and later moved to Los Angeles, California to begin pursuing her career in music. Upon moving in 2013, Alivia attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts where she studied music and now continues her studies at the University of Oregon as a Popular Music Major. Alivia is an indie and alternative artist whose music can be described as an eclectic mix of folk, indie-pop, and alternative soul sounds—though she likes to genre bend. Alivia’s lyrics often revolve around themes of identity, nostalgia, and self-reflection, but these themes evolve and express themselves differently in each of her tracks. Alivia recognizes a large mix of influential artists ranging from Jo Stafford, Nina Simone, and Erykah Badu to Lana Del Rey, Banks, and the Fleet Foxes. Alivia also finds inspiration from a large pool of producers like Pretty Lights, Ta-ku, Grimes, and many more. The Willamette Valley Music Festival will be Alivia’s first festival debut, though she has performed at many other venues like The W hotel, Genghis Cohen, and AMPLYFi in the past. Currently, Alivia is in the process of putting together a four-song EP while working on collaborative projects with producers like Joshua Berliner, who will also be performing at the Willamette Valley Music Festival. In the future, Alivia plans to continue performing at music festivals, and hopes to release an album very soon.
